Work-In-Progress Wednesday

Now that I’ve been posting pretty consistently for a while, I’m thinking of having some theme days, hence “Work-In-Progress Wednesday” This post is being written on Monday, however, so the painting shown will probably be a lot further along by the time you see it!

I cleaned up this older drawing, “Hep Cat and Houseplant” a while back and wasn’t sure how to proceed with it. Now that I know I can print drawings from my computer and then paint over them, I can finally make more progress.

Most of the artwork has been colored in with watercolor pencils, and water has been applied to a few areas - the stems and branches, the “table” on which the plant and cat are sitting, details on the cat, and a few of the flower details. The background will be painted later using just watercolors. It’s been printed on 11” x 14” paper, but only a smaller area is shown.
