Imaginary Prehistoric Fish

Another imaginary animal! This one made me wonder:

• Would a prehistoric fish have had nostrils? (Maybe - if it spent part of its time on land.)

• What’s up with that impractical-mustache-looking-thing between the fish’s nostrils and mouth? (Maybe, if the fish was in danger, it’d puff up to intimidate the predator. Or maybe it would do so to impress a prospective mate.)

I think you can safely infer from this that my imagination exceeds any knowledge I have of marine biology!

Techniques from the @carlasonheim book “Imaginary Animals” were used to create this “blobimal” (her term).
