Rovinj Inspired (Throwback Thursday)

In April and May of 2023, I took a cruise with stops in Italy, Croatia and Montenegro. This drawing, completed in June of that year, was inspired by our stop in Rovinj, Croatia. To be clear, it only very vaguely resembles the actual Rovinj. The sailboat to the back left resembles our boat slightly more. It was a Windstar and could be considered either a small cruise ship or a large sailboat. Yes, it had actual sails, but I think maybe they were more for show than function. And the gondola at the back is definitely a Venice, not Rovinj, thing! The castle and lighthouse are from somewhere else altogether, too.

This drawing was done when i was still experimenting with outline colors and the green doesn’t cut it. Someday when I hopefully get to redo it, it will have a darker outline - maybe black, dark blue or dark brown.
